My paintings are currently on display at Kawartha Lakes City Hall at 26 Francis St. in Lindsay.
It’s beautiful Victorian architecture is a beautiful backdrop for a gallery! The Mayor has provided the opportunity for local artists to exhibit their work each month. It’s great to have another venue to promote and share our artwork in our community.
City Hall is open to the public Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm and my paintings will be up until November 13. Stop by and take a look!
I’ve started a couple new paintings…..one is drawn out and ready to paint and the other I started painting a couple of weekends ago. I love it – a winter scene with all the shadows in the snow and the light through the trees. I’m enjoying this one!
Thank you to my Twitter friend Jerry Holder for the inspirational photograph – this beautiful spot is just minutes away from my house.
I am participating in ‘Windows of the Community’ which is an initiative by United Way of Kawartha Lakes, The Lindsay Gallery and Community Living.
Artists from Community Living and from The Lindsay Gallery have been asked to share their interpretation of our community on old windows that have been donated. The finished window artwork will be displayed in local businesses until the gala auction on August 23 in Bobcaygeon.
I’m working on some ideas for my window and I have to get moving on it – they need it by the end of the month! I am going to get a piece of board cut to fit the back of the window so I can do a painting on the board and then screw it on. I am planing on painting the local landscape….something you would likely see out of the window of a home or cottage in Kawartha Lakes.
Here’s my window. I’m going to clean it up a bit, but I do like the rustic look so I won’t be repainting or refinishing the window itself.
