A card from Japan – Day 348

Today I received a lovely Christmas card from one of the delegates from our sister city Nayoro, Japan. A group came to visit us this summer and spent a week or so touring around the area and taking in the sights.

Two of my prints were presented to Nayoro Mayor Kato by Mayor Ric McGee as it is tradition to exchange gifts. You can read about that presentation here.

The card was sent by Kaoru Shiraki and says “Dear Brenda Stonehouse, It was a nice stay in Lindsay. It would be nice to see Apple Blossoms in Spring next time!! I saw your work “Evolution of a Painting” at YouTube. I love it!! Mayor your holidays be filled with peace and joy and happiness. Sincerely yours, Kaoru Shiraki 2012 Nayoro Delegation.

She also included a photo of one of my prints in the Mayor’s room. So thoughtful!Card from NayoroMayors room Nayoro
