My first gift show – Day 309

Today was the Extravaganza Gift Show at the Victoria Park Armoury in Lindsay. It was my first show and I was a little nervous but overall it went well.

The show is a fundraising event for the Ross Memorial Hospital Auxilliary and there were about 45 vendors. It was a mix of vendors….jewellery, crafts, baking, preserves, knitting, sewing, an author doing a book signing and some organizations.

I had booked a 10′ x 12′ space (a double spot) and I had an excellent location, just inside the door. I was able to maximize the space by using both sides of each of my 3 tables.

There was a steady flow of people throughout the day which was nice. It wasn’t quite my market – it was more the $10 knitted slipper crowd – but I managed to sell enough to pay for the booth plus a little bit.

I’d like to thank my in-laws, John and Wendy, for helping transport the stuff to and from the Armoury, and a big thank you to my husband John, who spent the day in the booth with me. I joke that he’s my agent but he truly is my biggest supporter and I couldn’t do this without him!
