Whew! It’s been a busy few days! On Tuesday evening I made a presentation to the Kawartha Young Professionals Network on how to get the most out of social media. They were a great group and it’s nice to see so many young people who are successful in their businesses. It was also really nice to get up in front of a crowd again and to speak about something that I enjoy. It’s even better when you get great feedback which I did!
Last night I volunteered for the Lindsay Exhibition Parade. I’ve been a volunteer for 4 or 5 years (I can never remember) and I’m one of the marshals that get the floats all lined up. We had a different route this year since our usual marshaling area is under construction so there were a few hiccups but nothing major. Once again the parade featured an elephant (yes, an elephant!) from the Bowmanville Zoo. The zoo provides a Zoo to You program at the Lindsay Exhibition that’s just fantastic. The RCMP Musical Ride is also featured this year and will be doing shows throughout the weekend so get there if you can!
On the art front I’ve started working on a few palette knife paintings for the Extravaganza gift show in November. I’ve done the background on a few but started blocking in the major areas on one this morning. It’s still quite rough but I think it’s going to be quite nice.
