It’s a beautiful evening and I’ve been out in the garden. It’s been incredibly dry here and I’ve been hoping for some rain. There were thunderstorms all around us yesterday but not a drop here so everything needs to be watered. Normally, I don’t water much – plants have to be pretty hardy to make it around here – but they definitely needed a drink.
After watering I decided to get down and do some weeding. I find it to be really therapeutic….there’s a rhythm to pulling weeds. It’s great thinking time.
As I was weeding, I was planning out my Windows of the Community painting in my mind. I’ve decided it’s going to be a fall landscape (yes, another one!). A few years ago John and I took some great photos in Norland and one photo kept coming to mind when I thought of the window. My father-in-law was kind enough to cut me a board to the right size today so I’ll be starting on the painting first thing tomorrow morning.
