The house gets a facelift – Day 138

I did my usual early morning painting and got quite a bit accomplished on the flowers on the split rail fence. It’s slow but it’s coming along!

My husband John took a couple of days off this week to take on a home improvement project. His father (who is also named John) has extensive construction experience so we rely heavily on him to steer us in the right direction and to lead the project. He did an incredible job expanding our deck….twice….and he’s always willing to come over and help us out.

This week’s project was to replace the siding on the front of the house. It was faded and starting to look dated so we felt it was time to update it. We’re looking to sell our house in the next year or so to get into a new home that better suits our lifestyle so we thought this it would improve the curb appeal quite a bit.

Here’s how the house looked with the old siding:

After the old siding was taken off, we had this lovely vintage look:

And this is the final product. It’s incredible the difference it makes!

Dear Brenda, John and John Senior:
We viewed with great interest . You have certainly managed to raise the eye appeal. The English Tudor style enhances the architecture and landscape. Congratulations.
