This morning I was excited to get back to the little painting of the orchids so I got out my paints and started at it. Then I discovered a big problem….the paint from yesterday was still wet.
This is what is called “wet-on-wet” painting and is something I don’t do often since I’ve usually had a few days or even weeks between working on a painting. Turns out, wet-on-wet is not my thing.
I wasn’t able to blend the colours the way I wanted or to darken them up. So this morning I basically I played around in the still wet paint. Lesson learned! I’ll wait a day or so until this painting is dry enough for me to make an impact with the second layer.
My husband is home for the weekend so I’m going to enjoy Friday night catching up and enjoying his company. Happy Friday everyone!
