It’s done! I think…

I think the Muskoka chair painting is done! I’m sure every artist is asked how they know when a painting is done, and for me the simple answer is that I don’t know.

I will spend the next couple of days taking time to look at the painting to see if anything jumps out at me as being awkward, or the wrong colour, or not enough contrast, or just off somehow. Then I’ll spend some time to fix those things up. It’s a tricky time though because paintings can be ruined by overworking them and I don’t want to do that.

Once I’m satisfied that it is finished I will take a brush and paint and sign my name to it. Signing paintings is always stressful for me because I’m always afraid I’m going to mess it up. It’s tough to write ‘s’ and ‘e’ with a brush!

Now I have to come up with a name for the painting….Muskoka chairs just isn’t creative enough. Suggestions?

I love it! Pure eye candy. I can’t come up with a title suggestion, but empathize with not knowing when a painting is finished. Happens to me all the time.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog.

The first thing what comes to my mind when I look at this painting, it’s a rainbow (even if they are not the same colors of the rainbow). What about ‘Somewhere over the rainbow…” or “Inviting rainbow”. Not sure if it’s sounds right in English, but it sure sounds good in Russian.
