Thinking small – Day 40

Yesterday’s blog post certainly generated discussion! Thank you to everyone who commented on here, through Twitter and on Facebook. I appreciate your comments on why you buy art and the pricing of pieces. It gave me a lot of think about and investigate!

I am going to look into making prints of my paintings and have started some preliminary investigation. It can be expensive – I’ll need to have professional photos of the painting taken. Then I’ll have to determine whether I want to have it reproduced on canvas and stretched, or printed on paper. If it’s printed on paper then it can be sold as is or I can have it matted and framed.

In the meantime I’m going to do a few smaller paintings like 8″ x 10″ or 9″ x 12″. I took these photos of orchids when we were in the Dominican Republic in November and I think they’ll make bright, fun paintings.

Of course, I’ll need to finish the Muskoka chairs first…I spent another hour working on that today. The end is in sight!
